Privacy policy

What we collect, how the show uses it, and how to contact us about your information.

Who we are

Gravy Got Talent is operated by Kevin Coleman. This policy covers the Gravy Got Talent Pilot Apple TV app and gravygottalent.app, including organizer accounts, music uploads, guest voting, and support.

For privacy questions, access, correction, or deletion requests, email support@gravygottalent.app. You can use a nickname when joining a contest. An organizer account is required to prepare a contest; guests do not need an account or email address to vote.

Information you provide

Organizers provide their name, email address, account credentials, contest details, song titles and creator names, highlight selections, and uploaded recordings. Recordings may contain voices or other personal information. Only upload material you have permission to use and share with your audience.

Guests provide a display name, category ratings, and a final favorite vote. Organizers may optionally enter recipient email addresses for invitations and round-one results. If you contact support, we receive your address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to send.

Technical information

We use random account, contest, guest, and TV-pairing identifiers; session records; playback position and readiness reports; and request timestamps to operate the show. The service receives network information such as IP addresses. TV pairing uses a hashed network identifier to limit abuse.

Our hosting and authentication providers may process IP addresses, browser or device information, and operational or security logs when you connect. The app does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, or microphone. It plays recordings uploaded by the organizer.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate organizers, admit pilot hosts, prepare and play music, pair a TV with a contest, register guests, save votes, calculate results, synchronize the show, send requested account and contest emails, provide support, and prevent abuse.

We do not sell personal information, run advertising in the app, or use your data for cross-app advertising or advertising profiles. The app does not include third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs. We do not use uploaded recordings to train AI models.

Who can see contest information

The organizer, approved TV, and joined guests receive information needed for the contest, including song details, progress, aggregate ratings, finalists, and results. Audio plays to the people in the room. Invitation and results recipients receive the contest information included in those emails.

Recordings are stored privately and served to authorized playback clients through temporary links. A contest code is intended for your invited audience, not a public directory. Anyone who receives a valid code may attempt to join while joining is open, within the guest limit. Keep codes and pairing approvals within your group.

Service providers and disclosures

We use Neon for accounts and database storage, Vercel for website/API hosting and private audio storage, and Resend for account and organizer-requested emails. Support mail is routed through Cloudflare to an inbox hosted by Comcast. These providers process the information needed to deliver those services, subject to their applicable privacy, security, and contractual obligations.

We require service providers handling personal information on our behalf to protect it and use it for authorized service purposes. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where providers operate. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, prevent fraud, or secure the service.

Storage on your devices

The website uses authentication cookies and browser storage to keep organizers signed in and remember a guest's contest session and retry requests. Browser playback also uses a tab-specific playback credential and temporarily downloaded audio. These functions are necessary for the show; they are not advertising trackers.

The TV stores a random pairing credential in its Keychain and verified songs in the app's cache. Songs outside the next prepared playlist are removed during preparation; tvOS can also remove cached files. Clearing website data removes local browser sessions but does not delete server records. A host can revoke a TV connection from the website.

How long information is kept

Contests and their uploaded songs expire 24 hours after the host closes final voting, or 30 days after contest creation, whichever comes first. This includes songs added later; edits and voting retries do not extend the deadline. Our daily cleanup permanently deletes expired contests, their server-stored song files, participant names, votes, results, TV pairing records, upload metadata, action records, and contest email payloads and recipient lists. Deletion normally happens on the next daily run after expiry. Failed or interrupted cleanup is retried; limited records and file paths may remain until deletion succeeds. Keep your original recordings and save any results you want to keep.

Original upload files are normally removed sooner after a verified compressed version is saved; replaced, removed, and abandoned uploads are also cleaned up. Organizer accounts remain until separately deleted. The pilot retains an aggregate count of contests created. Provider logs, backups, and received support mail may remain under provider retention and applicable legal or security needs.

Your choices and deletion requests

Email support@gravygottalent.app to request access, correction, or deletion of an account or contest-related personal information, or to withdraw permission for optional communications. Provide your organizer email or the contest title and guest nickname so we can locate the records. Do not send your password or a TV pairing credential. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting.

Removing the TV app or clearing browser storage alone does not delete server data. Earlier deletion and account-deletion requests currently go through support; there is no self-service deletion screen yet. Contest data is otherwise removed by the automatic cleanup described above. We may retain limited information when legally required or needed for security or resolving disputes, and will explain applicable limits when responding.

Age limits and children

Organizers must be 18 or older. Voters must be 13 or older. The initial release is not intended for children under 13 to register, enter personal information, or vote independently, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Do not enter a child's name or email address or upload recordings containing their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support@gravygottalent.app so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.

Security and policy changes

We use encrypted network connections, access controls, private audio storage, and scoped credentials to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your organizer account, approve only the pairing code shown on your own TV, and avoid including sensitive information in titles, display names, or uploads.

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the date shown here. Material changes will be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel. Contact support@gravygottalent.app with questions.
